Alternatives
Tremendous alternative — a person arranging it, not a self-serve dashboard
Tremendous is API-first and self-serve — a strong fit for automated micro-payouts at scale. gift.cards is the alternative when you want a person arranging it: invoice billing instead of card funding, physical delivery with branded packaging, locally curated brands per country and one account manager on the phone.

What Tremendous does, and where they're strong
Tremendous positions itself as a payouts platform: fund a balance with a card or ACH, then send digital rewards, prepaid cards or bank payouts from a dashboard or API. The workflow is designed to be self-serve, with usage-based fees.
- Well-documented public API for automated, high-frequency micro-payouts
- Fast self-serve setup — teams can start sending from a dashboard the same day
- Broad US payout catalogue including PayPal, Venmo, ACH and prepaid Visa
- +You want a single account manager arranging each campaign, not a self-serve dashboard
- +You want to be invoiced in EUR or GBP after delivery instead of pre-funding a balance
- +You want physical gift cards with branded packaging delivered to recipients or a central address
- +You want locally relevant brands per recipient country across 180+ countries, not a US-centric catalogue
- +You want a program spanning our 15M+ delivered gift cards worth of operational track record
- →Your core need is automated ad-hoc micro-payouts (research incentives, refunds) at high frequency from your own app
- →You specifically need bank payouts (ACH, PayPal, Venmo) rather than gift cards
- →You want a fully self-serve dashboard with no sales conversation

Frequently asked questions
How does switching from Tremendous to gift.cards work?
You tell your account manager the volume, recipient countries and delivery mix from your current Tremendous setup. They design an equivalent programme on gift.cards, share a quote and — once agreed — arrange fulfilment and invoicing. There is no self-serve migration script; each programme is set up by a person.
Do you have an API like Tremendous?
Yes, as part of an enterprise programme — API access is not self-serve. If your programme requires HRIS, CRM or reward-platform integration, your account manager scopes it during the quote and connects the technical teams. If you only need a public self-serve API, Tremendous is likely the better fit.
Invoice billing versus pre-funding — what's the difference in practice?
Tremendous asks you to fund a balance up front (card or ACH) before you can send. With gift.cards you receive an invoice after the campaign is delivered, on standard payment terms. That removes pre-funded balances from your books and keeps procurement in the usual PO/invoice flow.
Can you deliver physical cards, not just digital codes?
Yes. Physical cards with branded packaging can be shipped in bulk to a central address or drop-shipped to individual recipients across 180+ countries. Delivery format is agreed with your account manager per campaign.
